About me
I'm Dan, from Romania. I'm old; I'm 51 now, in 2022, but I feel like 16 :) Though I'm not very specialized, I love everything computer related - programming, networking, system building and configuration and so on.
The first computer I worked played on
was a Spectrum, back in 1983, or 84... That thing, and
other various stuff (like a passion for cryptology) made
me go to a computer school in '85, when I was 14. There I
studied computer architecture and programming, mostly
Fortran and COBOL, then, in the last 2 years, we ran
mostly BASIC.
When I went to the university, I chose the other domain which interested me a lot: mechanical stuff, namely machine design and construction. It was good because I could apply a lot of my programing skills in optimization of various processes.
Now I'm working in IT, mostly networking, administration and a little programming. I love retro-computing and I actively use FreeDOS. Now I just got into RISC OS and it is quite fun running it on a Raspberry Pi.
