dungeons and dragons

I was DM-ing a game for A. and E., who were in a cave fighting some kind of creature. I got the impression that it wasnāt a a particularly difficult or significant creature. Some kind of goblin or something.
E. took a crack at it, and then A., through some combination of hijinks, managed to cast a spell that did over 100 damage and completely annihilated the creature. Wasnāt even mad about it either. A is an experienced DM and an experienced player, and is insanely creative when it comes to making characters. They usually spend all of their creative energy though optimizing very silly or quirky aspects of their character, and they are almost never optimized for battle or damage. Perhaps this was my subconscious wondering what it would be like if he ever actually did that: optimize for combat damage.
Scene change, and itās still Dungeons and Dragons, but this time Iām in the game. Iām not playing the game as a player, but I am my character, in the first person. Iām in a classic fantasy tavern getting to know the other characters (who are all sitting on the same side of the table, facing the ācameraā), and I am still kind of speaking as the player, sometimes referring to myself in the 3rd person, and sometimes kind of narrating what Iām doing as Iām doing it.
My name is Bastion Goodfellow, and Iām a fancy, dandy kind of guy. Small, slight build, wavy hair that reaches my shoulders. Familiar looking, but I canāt place where Iād know him from.
Iām chatting with the fighter, who is appraising me and writing me off as a melee combatant. Little does he know that little Bast, while he is a caster, is also a hexblade warlock, and will be fighting alongside him when things go sideways.
Bastās whole color scheme is purples, and when he conjures his blade, he holds up his tiny fist and plunges it into his chest with a wavy burst of purpley portaly stuff, and draws out a longsword. Kind of like in the Red Hook comics.
There was some kind of a commotion, and Bast got separated and was wandering from room to room, trying doors. I think they were trying to find the chef or the caterer.
