Kate came bustling in the front door of the new house with a small wooden Christmas tree that she had found somewhere or that somebody has cast off. It was definitely more of a salvage or scavenge situation. It wasn’t as though she had gone to Target to get a new decoration. And it looked it too. It was kind of misshapen, not quite the conical cone that you think it must have been at some point. It had dents in the side, and kind of slumped to one side. It was covered in small plain round wooden balls as decoration, but some were missing.

It was altogether in a sorry state but she was elated both were her find, and with the prospect of getting to decorate her new house for the holidays. Even though they are six months away.
